Hurry up and wait has been the situation with this year’s tow south to the barge’s winter home with the unseasonably early Pacific storm bringing stong winds and heavy rains the the Pacific coastal areas. But… finally the winds abated and the sea settled into a calmer state allowing the tug to hitch up the barge and start the 48 hour journey south. Half way to port now the sun has showed her warming face this morning as dawn brought light to the western coast seen here close to Port Hardy…. on a rippling sea so much more friendly to mariners.
